Why Duplicate Your Squarespace Site?

Duplicating your website provides a safety net. Whether it’s a small tweak gone wrong or a major overhaul that doesn’t pan out, having a clone of your site means you can revert back without hassle. It’s also useful for testing out new designs or features without affecting your live site.

Step-by-Step: Duplicating Your Website on Squarespace

Step 1: Access Your Squarespace Dashboard

Log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the dashboard. This is your starting point for managing all aspects of your website.

Step 2: Select the Website You Want to Duplicate

Scroll through your list of sites and pages to find the one you wish to duplicate. For this tutorial, I'll be using my portfolio as an example.

Step 3: Duplicate the Site

Locate the three dots in the upper right corner of the page thumbnail. Click these dots to open a menu, then select "Duplicate Website." You'll see a confirmation dialog box—click "Duplicate" here as well.

Step 5: Check Your Duplicated Site
After the duplication is complete, scroll down to the bottom of your dashboard. Your duplicated website should appear there. Now you can edit or review the site as needed without any risk to your original content.

Duplicating your Squarespace website is straightforward and a wise precaution to take regularly. With your duplicate site, you have the freedom to explore different layouts, update content, or implement new features with the assurance that you can always revert to the original if needed.

Maintaining a backup might seem like a minor task, but it can significantly impact your digital presence and peace of mind. Start duplicating today and keep your website safe!
